The two-day event, chaired by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, held marathon discussions on developing 50 world-class tourism sites across India under the new initiative inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ultimate goal of the initiative is to choose and develop at least one potential global tourism hub in every state that could help India in positioning itself among the top 10 tourism powers of the world.
Besides Rajasthan, the presentations from states including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Gujarat were also held. The presentations by Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Uttarakhand were held on the opening day on Tuesday.
